Notes or transcript:  “A traveling man recently wrote the following on a local hotel register, says an exchange. We publish it for landlord J. T. Tate’s benefit, so that he may be ‘next’ if any ‘knight of the grip’ attempts to spring it on him. ‘Our landlord at the head of the table, we hallow thy name; let the beefsteak come, let it be well done and let it be without taint. Give us this day some ham and eggs; also strawberries and cream. Forgive us when we kick as we forgive those who kick against us. Put us not into unclean beds; deliver us from dirty towels and cockroaches, and thine be the glory forever, Amen.”
