Twelve Pleasing Presents

From the November 5, 1914 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri):

Many people look forward to the purchase of Christmas presents with dread, not so much because they do not desire to give presents, as the fact that they feel they can ill afford to purchase the gift that will, in good measure express their esteem to the objects of their affection.  These reasons can be eliminated.  A dozen photographs will make twelve pleasing presents to relatives and friends and the cost will be much less than anything else that you can purchase.  An early setting at Ashbrook’s studio will relieve you of much needless worry and insure the pleasure of those to whom you send these inexpensive, yet greatly valued, remembrances.
