We Thank You

Please allow your humble storyteller to join the Skidmore News in wishing you the very best of holidays and a peaceful, kind, prosperous new year.  From the December 26, 1918 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

We have enjoyed a bountiful Christmas trade and we know to whom we are indebted. Our friends, we thank you! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. G. C. Ashbrook, Skidmore, Missouri.

We Thank You

At this season of the year, when others are wishing you A Merry Christmas and Happy and Prosperous Year, the Skidmore News wishes to express its gratitude and best wishes to all its friends.  While this Christmas to many will be an unusual one, and in all more or less a little different, we wish all to enjoy the Yule Tide Season in the best possible way, and may the New Year be filled with an abundance of good things for you.

The past year has been one filled with many complexities for the newspaper game.  We have given much space and time to the advertising of worthy causes, but we are proud that we were able to do what we did, and would have been glad to done more.  Probably many times the paper came to you when you thought it was filled with advertising with very little reading, but we tried to do our best under the existing circumstances.

To all who in any way have tried to make the News a good paper and to all who have patronized us in a business way, we thank you.

Again extending to you the season’s greetings, we are,

Skidmore News.
